Politics stinks

Why I bother to pay attention is a mystery, but whenever I do I see what I’ve long expected; a political class adrift on its own narcissism, incapable of critical thinking, awash with groupthink and repeating the same old same old as nauseum. They truly seem incapable of viewing anything except through the filter of their embedded mindset, unable to understand that it is they who are the problem, and that they have driven increasing numbers of people away from politics, or, worse, to the right, anywhere but supporting the robots of the liberal-left.

Corbyn appeared fleetingly to be different, but it was only because he had spent a lifetime as an outsider opposed to the mainstream dogma, and soon after being accidentally chosen as leader, he has toes the line, and the power has clearly changed him for the worse. Hypocrisy is now his middle name, he answers questions with prepared statements instead of honest answers, and denies his lifelong opposition to the EU, instead, calling for an election he then refuses to go with, and all the time trying to span all opinions as if anyone would want to vote for a confused mob constantly riven with in-fighting and power struggles.

The liberal-left are responsible for the drift of the electorate towards the right, in denial that their PC groupthink has finally driven most people to support anything rather than their free-speech denying humbug. The right, especially the alt-right, have taken advantage of this and are full of sound, sensible critiques and ideas, seeming to say what ‘ordinary people’ have been saying for years. Outside the Westminster bubble the country is so sick of being lectured and sneered at by a self-appointed elite which seems to become dimmer and more disconnected by the day. The media, no better than their chatterati feeding tough overlords, continue their obsessive groupiedom, and truly haven’t a clue what’s going on. Whatever happens they will report on it with the lack of understanding they have always displayed. They need the political class as much as ever, and share its shallowness and asdsumption of superiority. They too are widely despised.

And all through it the young are increasingly calling out ‘what about our future’, and despite the rush of selfies with Greta, none of them do other than pay lipservice to the climate emergency; it is inconvenient when all they can think of is the economy and the ever-present need for growth; the driver of climate destruction. And they fail to see the contradiction.

Eventually, the young will come to understand that they have been patronised and their marches ignored or patronised, and will start to get angry as they see any future being sacrificed to greed, and will become very angry. Then the spanner in the works will start; sabotage of the engines of growth, blocking airports and oil terminals, closing down roads and refusing to consume.

My new supply arrives

Well it’s worked twice more; my back being bad at present made the arrival of my new supply of Blue Edition CBD oil welcome and I immediately rubbed some in. Again, relief was immediate, from lying groaning on the bed, I was up and found myself rehanging  heavy curtains with a new rail, long needed and delayed. Then searching for other necessary work needing doing, a sure sign pain was absent.

The Blue Edition from cbdbrothers.com is thick, not mostly carrier oil and a bit of something as so many are. This version is 30% pure CBD added to hempseed oil, and it works. I would recommend it to anyone with back pain issues, although I’m sure there are plenty of other uses, with more being added all the time. It’s not cheap, but best to avoid the cheap ones, you get what you pay for. At £20 plus it seems a lot for a small dropper bottle, but it’s a large bottle and it’s full to the brim with thick dark oil, only a drop or two is needed, and it goes far.

With police chiefs publicly stating cannabis should be legalised, it can’t be many more years before the insanity of this situation is finally abandoned for common sense and rational judgement. The whole plant oil is best for most uses, CBD isn’t the whole answer, there are up to a hundred cannabinoids in this miraculous plant, and all must be investigated for the role they play. The current paranoia over the psychoactive cannabinoids, principally THC, is bizarre, especially since our society finds drunks amusing, especially if they are so incapable they can’t stay standing. Yet THC, which doesn’t incapacitate, is feared by most in positions of authority; yet the worst they have to fear from legalisation is being laughed at.

I should add that the colours of the Editions bear no relation to the oil, which is dark brown in all Editions, but the dropper tops are coloured to differentiate between strengths.

My CBD Diary

Well, the hiatus has died down and the shallow media have moved on to the next excitement. An ‘expert’ panel will review applications for Cannabis oil, which will cost over £3,000 per application so unlikely to be too many. No mention of who the experts will be, I’d bet money on none of them having any first hand experience of cannabis though, that’s a given. Only ‘specialist’ doctors will be allowed to prtescribe, so determined are the ignorant suits of government to now go near legalisation as that would entail admitting they’ve been wrong all along.

I’ve had a sample bottle of CBD Brothers Blue Edition CBD Oil for some months, and with no real idea of what I might test it on. Then I noticed a mole on my chest directly under my chin, and as I spend little time in front of mirrors, and even less bare chested, I simply couldn’t remember if I had had it all my life or it had appeared recently.

Then it occurred to me, that if CBD had any anti-cancer qualities, it might affect it if it was skin cancer, but if a mole there would be no effect since moles are permanent unless surgically removed. So I rubbed some oil on it daily for a week, and by week end it had flattened down a bit and lightened. I continued, and a few days later there was just a faint smudge of pale brown, barely darker than the surrounding skin and completely flat with the skin. Since then it’s lightened more and is as good as gone. I count that a yes, but it will take dozens of blind trials costing hundreds of thousands for any politician to accept it.

A few days ago, despite carrying out all out war against mosquitos, I was bitten on my right calf, and it swelled up to the diameter of a cup, red and hot to the touch and swollen hard. In the centre were four puncture marks, the bastard had a feast on me! The urge to scratch it was overwhelming, the irritation and heat making me want to tear the flesh away. Anyone who’s been bitten by a mosquito knows what I mean.

With nothing to lose and nothing in my medicine cupboard remotely suitable for applying to mosquitos bites, I smeared some CBD oil on the lump, more as an oil balm to sooth my scratching away, expecting nothing more than a few seconds of respite.

The itching stopped immediately along with a desire to scratch. So I left it alone, until a few hours later I thought to check it and the lump had shrunk to the size of a 10p coin, wasn’t as hot but still itching if I scratched. I applied some more oil and the next day it had disappeared, only a slightly hard lump detectable under the skin which wasn’t itchy or hot and which I can leave alone. Another triumph for CBD oil, when, as far as I’m aware, no one has mentioned it treating mosquito bites. Another round of scientific trials will be needed, meanwhile if the news is spread by everyone, the beneficial effects of this limited cannabinoid oil [only CBD, no THC, so legal in the UK now] will reach people who can benefit.

Despite reading many times that cannabis is a great help for pain, I hadn’t associated just CBD oil with that. But as I am prescribed opiates for chronic back and neck pain, I’m open to anything that makes it more bearable as I don’t want to increase the amount. It occurred to me that the oil could be rubbed into the seat of pain, in my case lower back vertbrae. After a day of driving too much yesterday, my back was agony  today, and unable to even get comfortable lying flat on the bed, I thought I would try the last few drops of the sample bottle.

To say it was instantaneous sounds even more like a cliché, but only seconds from massaging the oil into the pain, it was gone! I got off the bed without effort or the usual pain and started doing things where previously pain had blotted out the desire to do anything but lie flat. I spent a productive two hours before some pain started returning, although still, six hours later, it’s nothing like it was this morning. Time to order some more I think, although CBD Brothers also sell a salve which may be more useful for rubbing into the back. Different concentrations are sold in different coloured ‘Editions’, there’s also Green, White, Purple, Red and the strongest Black. All legal and delivered by post the next day.

Living with a wolf

Once again scientists have caught up with what I and many others knew without sampling DNA; all samples they took from disparate breeds of dogs, from large to small, were all 98% grey wolf.

This is my wolf

He’s only grey round his bum where his second coat shows. This undercoat is the same as a grey wolf’s, it is insulation and never gets wet, even in heavy rain, a fast shake and the top coat is damp, the undercoat dry. He’s an all weather animal, but really in his element in snow.

This official scientific news should dispel once and for all the claims by some that wolves can never be domesticated or live with humans, that even if reared from pup, the ‘true nature of the wolf’ will always surface. Such is the deep buried fear of wolves in many people, that they are eager to be convinced and will believe any stories, however far-fetched.

Yet early humans obviously had to start with pups to breed dogs, and these pups had to be taken from wolves. Native Americans say that in the old days before wolves learned to be scared of men, they allowed humans to play with the pups outside the den, together with the crows who held a special place with the wolf pack, signalling where the herds were from on high. They tell of the parents, leaders of every pack, watching relaxed while this went on. Perhaps one pup went missing now and then. The humans might have thought they had been sly, but the wolves would know, and would meet their offspring again one day.

All the extremes of shape, size and colouring humans have achieved from the spectacularly beautiful grey wolf, still contain 98% of their ancestors’ DNA, despite looking like several other species. No wonder when wolves meet dogs for the first time they are shocked and perhaps amazed; ‘smells like a wolf sure don’t look like one’.

dogwag    Kai delays the pleasure of eating his supper treats by thanking me with a loving grip of my arm in his jaws, and a grin of pleasure before setting to. His time keeping, or rather Earth clock awareness, is always spot on, he knows when meal times are to within a couple of our minutes.

I met this female wolf [below] at a wolf sanctuary and rescue in Wales. She behaved exactly like a shy dog meeting lots of strangers. We made eye contact and I smiled. She leaned forward and touched my lips with her tongue, a wolf kiss. I felt honoured. He bright amber eyes were so full of intelligence.

Wolf close up

Biologists have now agreed that humans and woloves evolved together. They taught us how to hunt, and we hunted together for mutual advantage. They may have even been key to our survival as hunters; away from the safety of the trees, and lacking the speed of most prey animals, our early ancestors would not have found survival easy and might have returned to the forest and stuck with killing monkeys if not for wolves.

My wolf keeps me in the moment, makes me laugh every day, and is a constantly willing companion to go anywhere. Non judgemental and loyal, he is simply my friend.

Antisocial Media

Yet again I’ve deleted my Twitter account, my third flirtation with this site which, in line with other ‘social media’ sites, seems to have many uses; official bodies like councils and police like to let people know what they’re doing, pass on local information and some PR. But most appear to use it to gang up with others with the same mindset to quote, allege, insult, defaim, sneer and put down by way of showing how their alternate viewpoint is correct. Neither are that interested in dialogue, in fact engaging in dialogue is considered an attack on their beliefs, and so many time a consturctive remark was met with dismissal, anger or blocking that I started to give up on that attempt, concentrating instead on playing games with both sides of the binary face-off that sees its physical manifestation in the streets where ricvals attack each other, and tweaking their selfrighteousness and virtue signalling; although this is generally thought to be a vise of the young liberal-left, the right are just as capable of it in their own way. Everybody talking and nobody listening.

So social media is off my menu and I will become a digital recluse instead, as well as a physical recluse. Humanity has let me down since early childhood, I feel little empathy with my own species despite having supplied genetic material for it by way of grandchildren. Their life is going to be nasty, brutal and quite possibly shorter-lived than mine, it grieves me to say. I suspect that many of the problems of social media are a reflection of this lack of a future; sensed but not understood or accepted. Leaving an undercurrent of tension, apprehension and unfocused anger.

I’ve started reading real, printed on tree-pulp books again after decades unable even to start one let alone finish. I even switch off the computers now for periods during the day, spend even more time thinking, seeing, hearing, withdrawing, waiting. Knowing what I know about the climate and what the future holds is something I’ve lived with for a long time, others have reached there too, but there’s no joy in sharing knowledge of an approaching end, no comfort there. Indeed, I sometimes wonder if it’s defencible to spoil others’ happiness by insisting they face facts without the usual reassurances that if they recycle and behave responsibly, their children’s children’s future is OK.

When  only recently another 200 previously unknown species have been discovered in an area of the Amazon, and when we have barely begun to understand basic biological and ecological processes but have split the atom, it is tragic that we are causing our own extinction from ignorance and selfish greed. Knowing this makes me impatient sometimes with those for whom the party is still in full swing, who look to the future with optimism and eagerness to cover more of the planet with concrete and tarmac, to feel ever richer while actually becoming poorer in everything that matters.

Rather than virtue signalling, this is admission of defeat. Having spent my life trying to wake my species to what we’ve done, I have no ‘told you so’ to give, just resignation.

The chatter will continue up to the day the last two humans perish. Then what is left of the ecosystem will begin the cleanup, evolution will fill gaps caused by our greed, and slowly balance will be restored, forests will regrow, and seas will become clean and filled with life again. But before that there will be death and destruction, with a risk the warming could become runaway and burn off all moisture, turning Earth into another Mars, which is strangely somewhere that many humans dream of visiting. Hang on and Mars may come to Earth.

Of ladyboys and queers

The idea of transexuals, a woman trapped inside a male body, began in the late 1980s – early 1990s and seems to have come from the imagination of a psychiatrist who had been treating men with gender confusion for many years. Before then, society got along fine with two genders, although one gender generally had less power than the other. Homosexuality had also been around forever, and homophobia had been eliminated at least in its institutionalised form, and homophobic behaviour and language were not considered acceptable after the paradigm shift that was the sixties.

Biologists have always agreed with the gender binary, and still do as far as I’m aware. No alternative biological theory has been advanced to support anything that includes males born in female bodies and females born in male bodies. Indeed, much recent research in the area of educational needs has been to best make use of the differences between boys and girls, which are not insignificant; girls mature earlier than boys and perform better  intellectually. Girls master language earlier than boys being more able linguistically, and it’s been discovered why this is, a specific area of the female brain is involved.

Differences in the way men and women perform verbal and visuospatial tasks have been documented in scientific literature, but it was not understoood whether men and women actually use different parts of their brains. Now a new study [Brain and Language], accounts for and corrects these methodological factors, and confirms that men and women use different parts of their brains when processing language and visuospatial information.

Do these self-proclaimed ‘females’ alleging they are trapped in a male body perform similarly to natural females in acquiring language and linguistic skills? One would expect that if there was any reality in the claim, that they would. That the female mind would be visible over and above the surface affectations of effeminacy. Further, females are known to have inherent multitasking skills that males don’t possess. It is easy to see how evolution could have shaped this; males going off as hunters needed to focus on that task or perish. Females gathering a wide variety of food plants and herbs, caring for children, and all the other tasks we all know women throughout our evolution have shouldered needed to manage many things at once. Some males can learn to multitask, but females have it from birth. Transgender ‘females’ have none of these inherent female talents, but seem fixated on the peripheral aspects of females, attractiveness to the opposite sex, with artifice playing an important role; makeup, clothes, hair etc. Celebrity culture adds to this artificiality.

So while the claim is that the individual is female irrespective of the body born ‘into’, the reality of female and male is bound inextricably to the body and brain. Unles some theory of ‘spirit’ were advanced in which a female spirit enters a body, and whoops, wrong gender. How would that work? Whose mistake would it be? God’s? There is no biological theory yet advanced that explains how ransgender could be anything other than a mental illness.

I think the problem lies with gender activists who, for personal reasons, campaign for all kinds of changes they want forced onto society, and such is the nature of liberal politically correct institutions and individuals, that transgender has slipped in under tha radar of sceptics, if they still exist, and been accepted by default with no examination or debate. The BBC grandly lists LGBT community as if all these mental patients hang out with homosexual people as a group, rather than most of the latter living their normal lives entirely part of the wider community.

Activists don’t feel part of this wider community, and don’t want gay people accepted, it would dilute their anger after all. These PC uncriticals don’t even question the changing nature of this ‘community’ which looks more and more imaginary at every change; from LGBT it changed to LGBTI or in some manifestations LGBTQ, LGBTQQ, LGDT+ which leaves it open for later additions once they dream them up in trans-think tanks across California. I’ve seen one claim that paedophiles should be included, which was tried briefly in the sixties when these monsters thought t6he atmosphere of permisivenes could be used. But it shows the deranged nature of the people embroiled in this heated campaign, which doesn’t just stop at inventing acronyms, but continues to harrass anyone who voices any doubts about the viability of trans as a theory. Jermaine Greer has suffered banning and mobbing at a US university for daring,as a feminist icon, to publicly say she doesn’t believe in trans. This modern breed of fascist-liberal SJW is only too quick to take offence and bully individuals, while claiming they are a powerless minority.

Before I continue, an abstract from a paper I discovered;

What many transgender activists don’t want you to know: and why you should know it anyway

ABSTRACT Currently the predominant cultural understanding of male-to-female transsexualism is that all male-to-female (MtF) transsexuals are, essentially, women trapped in men’s bodies. This understanding has little scientific basis, however,
and is inconsistent with clinical observations. Ray Blanchard has shown that there are two distinct subtypes of MtF transsexuals. Members of one subtype, homosexual transsexuals, are best understood as a type of homosexual male. The other subtype, autogynephilic transsexuals, are motivated by the erotic desire to become women. The persistence of the
predominant cultural understanding, while explicable, is damaging to science and to many transsexuals.

There’s a handy list of word definitions on this link below, so children can learn the terms and feel inclusive. All very cultish, a bit Moony meets Scientology).

Quote: https://www.serc.mb.ca/lgbt/lgbttq-wordsdefinitions

‘You may be familiar with GLBT, LGBT*, LGBTTQ, LGBTTQQIA*, LGBTQQIP2SAA to represent Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans*, Two Spirit, Queer, Questioning, Intersex, and Asexual. The placement and inclusion of letters is determined by the communities using the initialism. There is no universal or official initialism for LGBTTQ* communities’.

It strikes me that despite their constant use of words like inclusion, they are desperate to categorise and label difference to the nth degree even within ‘their’ community, which in reality is just disparate groups of non-hetero friends at universities and what they dream up and what drugs they use. The use of make-up is compulsory. Prefered course: Gender studies.

My point isn’t to attack anyone, MYOB really is my motto, I’m concerned more with truth decay, and ignorance becoming commonplace and accepted. Transvestites have been around since we left the trees and decorated our bums with leaves, why was there any need to categorise them [and their lesbian sisters] into ever more diverse categories and labels, some even with their own sub-groups. When it starts getting dangerous and abusive, is when those with real mental illness are convinced and encouraged they need a surgeon to carve their body up, rather than psychiatric counselling.

They’ve done pretty well considering, since their ‘community’ is a miniscule percentage of the population, they have every institution in the West scared to do anything but give the nod, though it’s gertting increasingly hard to keep up with the frequent changes. Don’t take the list above as anything but temporary. I haven’t spotted P for paedophile yet, but some of these people are really out to lunch, it’s their life, their world, their narcissism. And it doesn’t get any crazier than a man I found [not like that] on Twitter who was clearly white, clearly male [with a manly beard even] and he stated that he was ‘Born white male, identifies as black lesbian’. And I really did not make that up. I assume that means he fancies black chicks who like bearded lesbian lovers. Or is that the way a racist but otherwise normal person joins this gendercult when they can’t sign up to being a minority?

Why are they so species phobic though? How about transpecies for those few who want to be, or feel they already are, another species in a detested humanoid body. Surely they also are entitled to the same respect and acknowledgement from the medical profession? Should all other species be lumped together though? Perhaps transwolf, transtiger [there are already some of them, I’ve seen them on video, truly frightening], transgoldfish. If it’s only limited to the imagination of an oversized, bored brain, anything goes. Well, it takes all sorts, as me mother used to say. She had absolutely no idea.

Islam and the West

There is much ignorance on this subject these days, even history seems not to have reached the social justice warriors who want to welcome Muslim refugees no matter what their intentions or attitude towards our culture. Central to this is the Crusades, used frequently by deranged jihadis still stuck in the 8th century mindset, and beset with misconceptions and lies that fuel the liberal-left guilt attitude to Muslim immigration to the West.

‘Misconceptions about the Crusades are all too common. The Crusades are generally portrayed by liberals as a series of holy wars against Islam led by power-mad popes and fought by religious fanatics. They are supposed to have been the epitome of self-righteousness and intolerance, a black stain on the history of the Catholic Church in particular and Western civilization in general. A breed of proto-imperialists, the Crusaders introduced Western aggression to the peaceful Middle East and then deformed the enlightened Muslim culture, leaving it in ruins. For variations on this theme, one need not look far. See, for example, Steven Runciman’s famous three-volume epic, History of the Crusades, or the BBC/A&E documentary, The Crusades, hosted by Terry Jones. Both are terrible history yet wonderfully entertaining.

So what is the truth about the Crusades? Scholars are still working some of that out. But much can already be said with certainty. For starters, the Crusades to the East were in every way defensive wars. They were a direct response to Muslim aggressionan attempt to turn back or defend against Muslim conquests of Christian lands.

Christians in the eleventh century were not paranoid fanatics. Muslims really were gunning for them. While Muslims can be peaceful, Islam was born in war and grew the same way. From the time of Mohammed, the means of Muslim expansion was always the sword. Muslim thought divides the world into two spheres, the Abode of Islam and the Abode of War. Christianityand for that matter any other non-Muslim religionhas no abode. Christians and Jews can be tolerated within a Muslim state under Muslim rule. But, in traditional Islam, Christian and Jewish states must be destroyed and their lands conquered. When Mohammed was waging war against Mecca in the seventh century, Christianity was the dominant religion of power and wealth. As the faith of the Roman Empire, it spanned the entire Mediterranean, including the Middle East, where it was born. The Christian world, therefore, was a prime target for the earliest caliphs, and it would remain so for Muslim leaders for the next thousand years.’
‘[…] the warriors of Islam struck out against the Christians shortly after Mohammed’s death. They were extremely successful once the most heavily Christian areas in the worldquickly succumbed.’

Thomas F. Madden is an American historian, a former Chair of the History Department at Saint Louis University in St. Louis, Missouri, and Director of Saint Louis University’s Center for Medieval and Renaissance Studies.

Similar to the lie that white Europeans invented and ran African slavery, when it was actually Muslim Arabs, white liberals are still thrown into confusion and guilt by the very mention of slavery [still practised in Muslim countries like the Saud dictatorship], and the young ones are so ignorant they start from imagined white guilt, which is exploited by those with an agenda, whether Muslim or just non-white.

With the mixing of Islam with Western democracy there’s a major problem; human birthrate is roughly 50% male/female. Muslim males are allowed to have more than one wife, and old, established, rich men often have several wives, some as young as 12, leaving none available for those younger males, who are forbidden from marrying kuffirs. Result; sexual frustration. Result, too few female muslims for young male muslims to ever marry except outside the religion, so prevalence of rape of non-Muslim females, made more likely by Qu’ran sanctioning rape of ‘Kuffirs’. If ever a problem was set to blow up, this is it.

It’s not Islamophobia to talk or write about this, a phobia is an extreme or irrational fear of or aversion to something, and there’s nothing irrational about fearing the effect Islam is having on our previously developing, tolerant and civilising society. Notice it’s the only religion this epithet is used with [originating with Muslims wanting to silence criticism they are unused to]. There’s no Buddhophobia, Hinduphobia, Shintophobia etc. but then they’re just religions, Islam isn’t, it’s political, expansionist and colonial, as it has always been.

the fool on the hill sees the sun going down and the eyes in his head see the world spinning round

A first post, after several years since I last blogged. I started writing a blog in 2003 at the start of the Iraq invasion by the UK and US. There was no WordPress then, nor any other blogging sites providing a platform; the word blog was hardly known by most people. So I designed and constructed my own site, registered a URL [http://www.oneworldnet.co.uk] paid for hosting and started writing. The archived blog can still be found here  http://passwordpublish.co.uk/blog/index.php

Welcome to my resurrected blog. I write about planet Earth and the damage we have done to it; the idiocy and inadequacy of politicians of all shades; current political hot potatoes and issues that stir much feeling, and anything else which catches my attention. I don’t suffer from any political correctness, allegiance to a party or group or restriction on my thinking on the basis of it upsetting anyone. I am not here to protect fragile egos, so if you object to anything I write, best to leave, although I would like to hear your views before you do. I’m not tolerant of bullshitters and anyone who lacks critical thinking skills, so I may seem dismissive now and then. I will always try to explain why though. I don’t want correcting based on anyone’s opinion. If you have superior facts please share them. I hate truth decay and wish only to listen to others who similarly value truth.

I hate to be categorised, don’t fit into any neat simplistic political groupings like left and right, and attack both sides of the political spectrum equally. But only when they deserve it. I tell it like I see it without the restrictions of groupthink, so that many people find it hard to neatly slot me into one of their categories so they don’t have to think. Good.

While national commentators like Christopher Hitchens were writing excitedly in favour of the Iraq invasion [2003], and forecasting it would be over in a few weeks and ‘bring it on’, and politicians were cheering on the rush to war, I was writing that it would be long, horrific and the repercussions would stretch into the future across the whole region. I leave it to the reader to decide which was the most far-seeing view.
